The Siemens online journal, designed by Virtual Identity, was awarded the intermedia-globe at the WorldMediaFestival 2005. This is the third award the online journal has received for its design, concept and communication in its first year of publication.
Over the past year, the Siemens Journal has provided the corporation’s clients and business partners as well as the general public with information about the latest business and social issues. It also highlights innovative products and solutions from Siemens.
The online magazine is published in nine languages each month, including English, Italian and Russian, at

Each issue is dedicated to a specific topic and fully utilises the advantages of the online format: The texts are enhanced by multimedia elements, users can generate print versions of the articles and a newsletter informs subscribers about new content. The journal will be updated on its upcoming anniversary with additional functionalities, improved user orientation and an optimised layout.
The Siemens Journal was awarded the intermedia-globe at the WorldMediaFestival 2005 for its successful combination of content, design and functionality. The magazine received a Webaward (”Outstanding Website”) in 2004 as well as a Corporate Media Award for outstanding corporate communication.
Dr. Christoph Engels, Editor in Chief and Manager of the Siemens Journal, emphasised the quality of the collaboration between the two companies: "Virtual Identity always creates clear, effective concepts and has an impressive ability to use the design elements available in the online medium. The agency has played a major role in helping us make the Siemens Journal a success."
