Munich, 3 April 2007
The Siemens corporate website (www.siemens.com) was ranked number one in the new Financial Times/Bowen Craggs Index. The utility of the corporate websites is assessed based on the quality of content and services offered to the companies’ typical target audiences. The study examined the websites of the 20 largest companies in the United States, Europe and the rest of the world respectively according to market value.
The megacity features on the Siemens website were given special mention in the evaluation. A Google Map mash-up is used to present Siemens references in New York and Shanghai. According to the authors of the study, this application of state-of-the-art Web technologies to communicate key company messages demonstrates Siemens' ability to effectively utilise the strengths of the medium and adapt quickly to the latest developments.
Virtual Identity has supported Siemens since 2001 in the concept creation and enhancement of the corporate website www.siemens.com. The agency was responsible for the design and concept creation of the new site during the relaunch in early 2007, including the megacity feature.
