Munich, 4 April 2008
Munich, 4 April 2008. For the second time in a row, the Siemens corporate website topped the recently released Financial Times Bowen/Craggs Index.
The study examined the websites of the 75 largest companies in the United States, Europe and the rest of the world according to market value. The utility of the corporate websites is assessed based on the quality of content and services offered to the companies’ typical target audiences.
The authors of the study attributed the top ranking of the Siemens website to the key role that the Web plays as a central means for providing and enabling information, communication and services. Special emphasis was placed on the website’s increased appeal due to the integration of numerous multimedia elements over the past year. The structure and functionality, which were evaluated as being outstanding, solid and rational in the previous year’s study, remained unchanged.
Since 2001, Virtual Identity has supported Siemens in the concept creation and continued development of www.siemens.com. The website was extensively revised during a relaunch last year. Virtual Identity was responsible for the design and concept creation of the new site.
