Virtual Identity relaunches the Festo website

Munich, 27 May 2008. Virtual Identity assisted Festo – one of the world’s leading providers of automation technology – to design and implement a new corporate website. This project involved systematic considerations and new approaches to the company's strategy, structure, design, content and services. The pilot version of the global website www.festo.de is now available online.

One of the aims of this project was to apply Festo’s strong brand identity to the online medium. Another was to ensure that the website’s potential as a business platform was used to the fullest extent, which involved designing the entire online presence in line with the needs of Festo’s customers. This website promotes a dialogue with all relevant target audiences by providing the services and tools they need. The new site uses the Web as an information, communication and sales channel for the company.

The relaunch provides users with comprehensive and systematically structured information on Festo’s products, solutions and services. In addition to the completely updated design, the website features intuitive navigation options and enables users to contact the right company representatives quickly and conveniently. The online shop was redesigned and enhanced with a few helpful options, making it even easier to use.

Before starting work on the new website, an analysis was conducted to determine the exact needs of the users and identify the potential for optimising the existing site. This was done through a user survey and eye-tracking test. The resulting data and Festo’s online communication strategy provided the basis for the new website design.

Virtual Identity was responsible for the requirements analysis, concept creation and online design for this project.
