The technical basis of FWU’s old website did not meet their requirements: it was difficult to maintain and extend, the use of different technological elements was too complex. The CMS only allowed editing of a few components, releases were manual and complex; there was no automatic deployment pipeline. Meaning: sticking to an outdated system would exceed the cost of a modern system by far.
FWU wanted a CMS that did not require technical help to be managed in multiple countries and languages. It needed to stay flexible so additional services that would be beneficial in the future, such as CRM, Marketing Automation Tools, and Search could be installed later. The system had to provide writers and editors with standard CMS features, making it much easier for the content team to work with.
